Whitman, Alabama is an experimental video series that uses documentary and poetry to reveal the threads that tie us together—as people, as a state, and as a nation. Over several years, the project invited Alabamians to look into a camera and share a part of themselves through the words of Walt Whitman’s “Song of Myself.” “Whitman, Alabama” was a 2018 Emmy finalist in the New Approaches in Documentary category.
